Floyd Murray

The African BioResources founder brings over 20 years of business management experience to the company. His experience spans a range of industries including textile, forestry, services, manufacturing and property. Floyd’s leadership of worldwide sales and marketing at investment group Khayalami Africa (Pty) Ltd, provides an understanding of South African rural and social development perspectives, and an innovative spirit that is much needed in the agricultural sector.

A wide breadth of business and entrepreneurial experience, gained from stints with international financial firm Deutsche Bank, SA Breweries and Kagiso Property, places him in good stead to achieve his goals at African BioResources. Floyd has managed a number of start-ups and has succeeded in turnarounds at privately held companies. His strengths are in strategy and building winning teams.

He serves as a director on the boards of a number of private companies and is an advisor to USAFAR, a Texas based relief and aid agency. He is a founding member of the Pan African Miscanthus Initiative (PAMI), a body that seeks to establish a network of Miscanthus plantations across Africa and promote entrepreneurship through the small scale planting of energy crops by rural farmers and communities.

Floyd is widely travelled and has a wealth of experience from working in countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Lesotho. He holds qualifications in computer science and business administration and is currently reading for a B.Sc. Agriculture.
